The Prayer Room is a section of the ministry of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church located at 855 E. 20th Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska, Rev. Dr. Alonzo B. Patterson, Pastor.

Ministry is about serving God, through serving humanity. We count it as a privilege that you selected this spot for your precious prayer requests. This is a private area where you can have others join our faith to your faith, and make your requests known unto God.

If you like, you can leave your name, phone number, home and e-mail address. If not, that's quite all right. You see, it is more important that God knows who you are. Our responsibility is to obey God and pray for all men. Leave your prayer requests and let us partner together to believe in God for your miracle.

If you would like to have one of the prayer team members contact you, please indicate this at the end of your prayer request. Please, by all means, let us know how God answered your prayers. Contact us again and leave a praise report so we may also rejoice with you. Thank you!

Send a prayer request to us. You can be sure that your request will only be seen by the Shiloh Prayer Ministry. Thank you.

God will richly bless you for seeking Him. The Bible says:

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct thy paths."
Proverbs, Chapter 3:5-6

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, this is the first prayer you must pray:

Prayer of Salvation

For He will be Lord of all, or He will not be Lord at all. If Jesus is not the Savior and Lord of your life, you must pay for your own sins. The Bible says:

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
Romans, Chapter 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Romans 6:23

There is nothing you can do to earn salvation, nor is there anything you can do to make God love you. He already loves you, just as you are! No matter what you might think or feel, you are not too far away from God that He doesn't see you right where you are at this very moment. It is no accident that you came to this site. God wants to save you, change you, and heal your wounds and bruises. But there is something you must do. You must confess Jesus, according to the Bible, you must agree with God. God makes you this promise:

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Romans 10:9-10

It is by God's grace that He has chosen to save you, through faith, and that's not of yourself; it is the gift of God. It is not by works, so therefore no one can boast.

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Romans 10:13

Jesus is the only way to get to God the Father. There is no other way, no other person, and no quick fix. Man is a sinner, separated from God unless we accept the gift that God has given to mankind.

His gift is His Son, Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, crucified on a cross for you and me, buried in a tomb and on the third day, the Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead. It was not the nails in His hands and feet that kept Him on that cross. It was His love for you and me. Jesus is now seated at the right hand of God, never to die again.

God is offering you Life; will you accept this free offer? What will your answer be? If you need help, please call us at (907) 276-6673.

Prayer Guidance: How to Pray

  1. Determine to be obedient to God in prayer.
  2. Take your Bible, pencil and paper with you when you pray, and be ready to receive from God.
  3. Set aside a time of prayer for the family, as well as time for your own personal prayer.
  4. Designate and dedicate to God a special place in your home for prayer. Make Him a prayer altar. This will be the place where you and your family meet with God in prayer, praise, worship, and the Word. If you will do this, you will find over time, that it will not take you very long to come into the actual presence of God. There you can make your requests known unto Him. Most of us have certain places for everything, but we fail to have a place for God in our homes. He is holy and deserves our reverence. Designate a special place and dedicate it unto God.
  5. Be honest with God, no matter what. There is nothing we can tell God that He doesn't already know.
  6. For some prayer is new. Talk to God and listen to Him. These tips for effective prayer may take some time to institute, but they are achievable. You have two that intercede for you, the 2nd and 3rd persons of the Trinity. If you have not been praying as the Holy Spirit would have you pray, repent and start again. The only prayer that God can't answer is the one He is still waiting to hear you pray.
  7. If you are not currently spending time with God in prayer, start slow, with a few minutes each day. Be consistent, with the intention to increase the time you spend with God. God will not only honor your sincere efforts, He will uphold them and bless you.
  8. Pray scriptural prayers. Find a scripture that agrees with your request or praise. The Word of our God is powerful and alive.
  9. Here is the pathway to prayer:
    • A - Adore God
    • C - Confess your sin
    • T - Thanksgiving unto God
    • S - Supplication

Scriptures for Meditation

"But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, whoseover believeth on Him shall not be ashamed."
Romans, Chapter 10:8-11
